Student Council

 

About Us

Student Council acts as the official student governing body of Institute of Science and Management (ISM) and serves as the representatives, advocates, liaisons to entire student community. Besides promoting leadership, Student Council also provides a platform for students to voice out their opinions and acts on changes to improve the students’ welfare and uphold the good name of the institute. Serving for Student Council is a great way of becoming an active member of the community, where students can work with each other to foster the sense of community in ISM.

Objectives:

The objectives of Student Council are :

  • To represent the student community in ISM.
  • To be recognized channel of communication between the students and the academic as well as administrative authorities of ISM.
  • To plan, organize and coordinate social, cultural and developmental activities in furthering the educational aims of ISM and in tandem with the interests of the students.
  • To co-operate and affiliate with other persons and bodies in maintaining and improving the quality of education and social experience received.
  • To promote the welfare of ISM students by gathering and expressing students' opinions on how to improve campus life and campus activities.
  • To assure that all events, programs and services offered by Student Council are open to all students regardless of race, sex, religion, national origin, physical disability, sexual orientation, or age except as permitted by law.

   

 

Green Fingers Club

  

About Us

The Green Fingers Club, established on September 2017, is seen as an effort to instill the importance of agriculture and cultivate the awareness for sustainable farming. It is also to equip the students with in-depth knowledge of agri-science and allow them to develop various practical skills as well as other soft skills. The establishment of this club is also in line with the visions of the ISM’s Board of Directors, who wish to develop the Diploma in Agribusiness Management course further to make it as one of the most well-known agriculture courses in Sabah.

Objectives:

The objectives of Green Fingers Club are :

  • To equip the students with vast knowledge of agriculture and expose them to the current issues and  the technology used.
  • To create the awareness and the needs for practicing Sustainable Agriculture.
  • To let everyone to have the hands on experience through various activities.

     

Rotaract Club

Purpose of Rotaract Club

The purpose of Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.

Objectives:

The objectives of Rotaract Club are:

  • To develop professional and leadership skills;
  • To emphasize respect for the rights of others.
  • To  promote ethical standards and the dignity of useful occupations;
  • To provide opportunities for young people to address the needs and concerns of the community and our world;
  • To provide opportunities for working in cooperation with sponsoring Rotary clubs;
  • To motivate young people for eventual membership in Rotary.
     

Cultural Club

 About Us

The Cultural Club of Institute of Science and Management is an idea of the ISM Board of Directors in 2012. It was formerly known as 1Malayisa Club and was led by Ms. Pang Kang Ning, a senior lecturer at the institute until January 2015 which was then handed to Mr. Mohd Firhani bin Mozainie Marusit and Mr. Danny Fung before being re-branded into Cultural Club.

Objectives:

The objectives of Cultural Club are:

  • To develop professional and leadership skills.
  • To offer the institute with cultural based activities.
  • To promote projects leading to student's personality development.
  • To take part in and organize various performances, shows and festivals with artistic themes.
  • To cultivate sensitiveness and more expressiveness for personal fulfillment and life quality standards.

   

CodeNTech Club

About of CodeNtech

The CodeNTech Club was founded in June 2019 by a group of students who are passionate about coding and everything that is technology-related. The club is intended to provide a platform for members to learn and exchange the knowledge and skill sets related to coding, which have become more pertinent with the constant technological revolutions that are changing the world. It is envisioned that the club would bridge the gap of knowledge and to inspire passion for coding among students.

Objectives:

  The objectives of CodeNTech are:

  • To provide a forum that bring together students who are keen on coding, to learn together and from each other.
  • To prepare students for a future where coding and technological related knowledge have become indispensable for future jobs.
  • To promote awareness among the students and locals about the importance and relevance of coding skills, as well as the latest technological advancement.
